How Can I Help Your Child and Your Family?
I am a Play Therapist in the St Louis area. I specialize in working with children and their families. As a Play Therapist, I work with children of all ages. I work with a variety of issues to include: ADD/ADHD, anger management, anxiety, Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), depression, trauma, oppositional defiant disorder, and school problems.
What Can You Expect?
When you call, you will speak with me (it may take me up to 24 to 48 hours to call back). I will answer
any questions that you have about my practice and my treatment
approaches. I will ask you some initial questions, such as your name,
contact information, and what prompted you to call.
At your first visit, I will have you complete a consent for treatment and a facesheet. Or you can download this forms and
bring them to your first appointment. I will review this information with
you and ask you and your child questions regarding various aspects of their
life and issue(s). Some questions that I may ask include:
- Who is
in your family?
- Do
you like school?
- What
do your friendships look like?
- Do you
have any medical issues?
- Do you
have any problems with any emotions (e.g., depression, anxiety, anger
management issues, etc.)
- Any situational stress?
Additionally, I may have you complete some additional
questionnaires regarding your child and yourself. If you have a younger
child, I may want you and your child to participate in a play therapy
assessment. This play therapy assessment involves you and your child alone in a room.
I have six to seven tasks for you and your child to complete. I am
not in the room and I videotape the assessment. I review it later and
give you feedback at a future session regarding this assessment.
Generally, it takes 1 to 4 sessions for me to develop some
type of treatment plan. I will then share this plan with you. If at
any time, you have any questions, feel to free to ask, email me, or contact me
on the phone.
I accept the following insurances: Aetna, BC/BS
(Anthem), Beacon, Cigna, Home State, Horizon, Magellan, Missouri Care, and United Behavioral Healthcare.
