Touch is an important factor in our growth, development, and our relationship with each other.  Touch has been shown to help individuals posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety.  Side effects from touch deprivation include:  physical violence, sleep disturbance, suppressed immune function, and growth deprivation.
